PayrollUse Our Simple Checklist for Your Small Business’ End of Year Tasks

When it’s the end of the year, it’s quite normal that companies are running everywhere with a lot of paperwork such as taxes, payments, bills and several other tasks that gather together and if we’re not quite organized, we might end up becoming a little bit crazy and in the worst case scenario, even forgetting about something or doing one of these tasks wrong.

Of course, that’s a mess that any company MUST avoid. No matter how big or small it is, how many people run it, at the end of the year is very important that everything is organized. But do you do this when you’re naturally a little bit messy and everything is going on so fast? Well, we have the solution for you: our task’s checklist.

What is our informative tax return checklist and how it works?

Our informative tax return checklist is an online document we’ve created and it includes the most important tax fillings and final dates. Of course, this is not an exhaustive and doesn’t necessarily cover absolutely every tax that every business needs to pay, but it definitely helps with the regular ones so you can have some time to worry about adding anything extra.
When the mind has a lot of stuff to do and doesn’t organize it, the brain works way too much more and tends to leave some things behind. When the eye and therefore the brain see an organized list of the tasks it needs to take care of and even can cross out the ones that are already done, it takes off a lot of work out of the brains shoulder so it can work easily and concentrate better. That’s the prime benefit of this kind of lists.

What if it doesn’t cover everything my company needs?

If the checklist doesn’t cover all the taxes you need to pay, you can add them so you remember o you can imitate the list with the ones that are lacking and just crossing out two lists.
If you are not sure if those are all the taxes you need to pay, then it’s better that you consult your tax adviser and make sure of anything. DO NOT rely only on this list for paying your taxes as it is, of course, a general format that includes the most common taxes but different companies may have different payments so make sure you know everything you need to know about your tasks before giving the year for ending.
What does the checklist include and who should use it?
This tax checklist is ideal for any small business that is still organizing itself or doesn’t have a specific person to do that job. Also, this tool is very useful for people who run a small or medium business but is really distracted or forgetful. The checklist includes:

  • Name and summary of the most common federal taxes filling.
  • Due dates if necessary (not all are in January, surprisingly!)
  • Checkbox for completion, you can fill the taxes and even add some more.
